A couple simple questions....

As I research more into the breeding of bettas, I've come up with a couple questions for someone with a bit more experience....

First off, I recall reading that there is an age limit for breeding.....like you can't breed them after a certain age. Not surprising, but I'm curious if my Sasuke is really too old.....I'd bought him from a craft store(Yes....they have bettas at my local craft store)and I can't recall his exact size...but I know that he was larger then any other betta boys I'd bought were. Now he looks huge, especially compared to the others. However, measuring him his about(no fins included in either measurement) 2" in length and 1" in....hight? I suppose that'd be the word to describe it
Does this give anyone an idea of how old he might be?

I also remember reading somewhere that black females are infertile....is this true? I believe Tetsuya is black, so i'd never be able to breed her....?

generally the black melano gean produces infertile females, if she was cross bread with a steel blue she may be fertile, post a pic of her if you can for better determination. im not sure about the age of your betta i'm not very good with size age comparison.

Unfortunately, Tetsuyas not a very willing subject when it comes to picture taking...heres the best one I have of her, let me know if you need something better and I can try for another
