Smile Fin tear infection?

Hey there y'all, so Mahak's fin is healing up pretty okay, I think. It only has a little more to go before it is completely healed But I noticed that at the point where the tear stops on his tail, it looks like a hole? Like the tail started healing further down than that point, thus leaving a small hole but once I put a whiter, brighter light to it that it has a greenish tinge. I am not sure if it was a play on the tank and wall behind or not but the whole point of this post is to simply ask how to tell if a tear has become infected.
Thank you. (:
