Has anyone tried a fishless cycle with using the water from changes in an established tank?
Wondering if it sped up the process, slowed it down, or killed it.
I assume there is already bb in the water of the water change tank, so adding water from the tank that is cycled to the tank that isnt cycled should theoretically speed up the cycle.
Ammonia dosing would be lighter due to the ammonia in the already added water.
BB isn't in the water, it's on the surfaces of decoration, plants, and the filter of the established tank. If you take a decoration or a bit of the substrate from the established tank and put it into the new one it should kick start the cycle and you should be able to grow BB i the new one.
