Could I add some otos?

I have a male betta in a 5 hex which is in the kitchen. It's gets quite a bit of sunlight so there is always algae growing. I was wondering is a 5 gallon too small to add a couple of otos to clean up the algae? Thanks

Is the tank fully cycled? Oto's are quite sensitive to water quality.. other than that I don't really have much to add..
