Hey guys, so I've decided that getting two of the 3gal critter keepers will be the most cost and space efficient way to house two of my new girls. I don't know how well they work, but I do know a lot of people use them for Bettas.
I was just wondering what the most efficient and low cost set up would be for the two critter keepers for a single female Betta in each. I would like to have filters and heaters in both and I would also ideally like to use a couple live plants. I am not sure what to use for lighting though. Also, what is the best substrate to use. I don't know how well gravel does in plastic containers. Will it get all scratched up inside? I do have a ton of gravel I use that is very old and worn very smooth with age and having been used many times over the years, but I'm still I tried it may damage plastic or be too heavy or something. Though I've never used substrate like sand, so I don't know how to keep sand clean or if plants do okay in it. I just want all my girls needs to be met so they can be comfortable without spending a fortune since money is limited for me right now.
