Thoughts on figurines?

So, for future tanks I want to do certain themes (like various Disney themes), but there aren't any dedicated aquarium decor that fits what I want to do.

So I'm wondering, would these non-poseable plastic/pvc figurines be aquarium safe? I'm thinking of purchasing sets like this one.

You could give them a thin coat of Aquarium Silicone just in case? I'm 99% sure they make a clear coat you can put on stuff to make it aquarium safe.

I've thought about that, but isn't even the clear silicone not 100% transparent? Not to mention it'd be difficult to evenly and thinly coat a small figurine in such a way that it's sealed. You'd need to be able to pick up and maneuver the piece around, and set it down on something with still-wet silicone... I just can't wrap my brain around it.

Besides, it's unlikely to be toxic since these figurines are desgined for little kids to play with. It's more an issue of colors possibly flaking off, I would think.

Dyes still have chemicals that run the risk of being broken down into the water I would think which wouldn't pose a problem to a childs play but would a tank I imagine with it rotting with age.

I have one in my tank, I haven't had any problems with it yet! I used my brother's old dragon figurine in my tank!

Stone, could you tell me mo about this kryon fusion? It's a spray, right? I'm thinking it could be I'd to spray regular aquarium ornaments that the paint flakes off of (I'm looking at you, floating betta logs).

BittyB--that's why I want to do something to stabilize the colors, rather than just chucking toys in there. :)

Stone--that's looking as the best option right now.
