Question lucky bamboo questions

Hi, I went to Petco yesterday and bought some lucky bamboo. They had it totally submerged in water. It had lots of roots and looks really healthy. I put in Macey's bowl, is this OK? It's tall so some of the leaves stick out of the top. I read somewhere about how they will rot....the lady at Petco said they wouldn't so I want your opinions.

Thanks so much!

I think I mentioned this in another topic of yours already, but any leaves submerged in water will start to rot and foul the water. If there are any in the water, you'll need to cut them. Leaves out of the water are okay, though.
