Did I pay too much?

For 54.00 I got a ten gallon tank. Glass lid, Florescent light. elite air pump. under gravel filter.thermostat, conditioner, net, air flow valve, and 50 watt heater. . . was this a good deal? I already bought it.... wish I would have fought the urge and asked you guys first.

I ended up spending 100 dollars but I bought gravel, rocks and a very detailed model of the titanic (I'm a ship fiend).

Oh thank goodness! I'm over here having a heart attack over spending so much. The ship model was 30 by itself.... but I was going to do a theme tank.... now I just hope I can pull off a sorority tank. Wish me luck.
I didnt know the individual prices of everything, so I wasn't sure if I was getting ripped off or not. But at 54 dollars I couldn't pass it up and possibly miss a deal. I'm glad I got it now! How long should I have it set up before putting the girls in it?

sounds like a great deal! i always recommend on a fishless cycling, but, ive also been impatient :)
and since you have other tanks you could also use a scoop or two of gravel from another tank, to help it cycle faster. also, if you add live plants, this really helps if you add fish right away

you might want to also check the info on sororities http://www.fishforum.com/betta-fish-...orities-29402/

good luck on the sorority, i love mine!

Great deal. If you can take filter media from another established tank and put it in the new one and some gravel from and established tank you should be fine to go ahead and put them in there. Just keep an eye on your water parimeters.

Thanks for all your advice guys! I'm so glad it was a bargain! Don't worry I'm taking it slow since this will be my biggest tank and I've never housed a sorority, so I am making sure I know everything I need to know first. But, thanks again for all the tips!!

I found it at Petland.... not sure if they are a chain company or just local, but this one was in Marietta Ohio.
