Also in my opinion, i place the heater near the bottom or lower half of the tank. Because warm water rises (like air) So I find that your aquarium will be more evenly heated with it lower. This is just my opinion.

Yeah it's a powerhead. The way I have it set up is I have a basket hanging on top of the tank which has a spraybar across it that empties the water on some filter floss and chemi-pure underneath. Then there is a hole in the corner of the basket where the water falls into the tank but I have the powerhead right below the hole so it stops the waterfall from creating a big current. With this I am cycling the water around 12x per hour but the current is equivalent to the tetra in-tank I had that was cycling around 4x per hour. This along with the chemi-pure keeps the water crystal clear. Plus with chemi-pure it costs $5 a bag but lasts for 6 months and works a lot better than just carbon.
Thanks for the advice on the heater I will move it down a little more.
