Dragon Scale Question

About how old are Dragon Scales before the top of their heads are scaled and don't have that little skunk stripe? Or do the skunk stripes ever disappear?

Thanks!

It depends, some keep a skunk stripe through their life and others go on to get a Full Mask. It depends on their gene's and "how much" Dragon scaling is in them. Like if they're full blood then I would suspect that they'd get a Full Mask where as if it was only half, the chances are more slim of getting a Full Mask.

I would be a bit wary of ones without the stripe our beloved "princess george" does not have the stripe and his scales are starting to cover his eyes, it seems to be a common problem, I am going to guess within a year he will be blind but we will do all we can to keep him happy and healthy

I'm pretty sure that doesn't always happen Stone, I know there are plenty out there but I know it's not guaranteed to happen.

it may not "always" happen, I am just giving a warning, it is up to them if they want to risk it and are willing to undertake caring for a blind fish. Knowing what I know now I would not get one without the stripe, we are already trying to plan george's new home for when he can not see, and to start training him on feeding and like think of bare bottom and decore and stuff like that

Even if they do have the stripe though, I can fill in over time. That's what happened to my boy Aero, he's still got a few spots left open but it's still going to fill in later in his life.

But if you got a DS that isn't full DS like one with many broken places where you see the under color then there's usually less of a chance of that happening but the pigment can still crawl to the eyes and leave the stripe there. It's rather a chance game unfortunately
