Bowl question

I got a new fish, and he's only in a one gallon (I know it's really small and that 2.5 or more is recommended) but I will get him a 5 gallon tank with a heater in the future. Since Nibber lives in a 30 gallon tank, I only know things about tanks and not bowls. So how often should I clean the new guys tank, and how much water each time?

Oh and how do I clean bowls? I only know how to do tanks..
Do I use as siphen, and do I put the new guy in another bowl while I'm cleaning the 1 gallon?
And how much salt are you supost to put in a 1 gallon?

Hello, congrats on the new fish!

For an unfiltered 1 gallon bowl, I'd do full 100% water changes every other day or so, just remove your guy and out him in a cup, rinse everything, then refill with dechlorinated water, accumulate your guy and your good to go

Another option is, if you have a siphon small enough, just do a 50% PWC and get all uneaten food/waste out, then a 100% change once a week. Don't need to remove him for the PWC, though you may have to remove the decor to get in there and get the stuff out...

With my bowls, I usually clean them twice a week, 100% changes. I take the bettas out and put them in the little tubs that came with, clean out the bowl completely, set the bowl up with salt and conditioned water, then re-acclimate them. In one gallons, I think it's supposed to be half a teaspoon of salt? I'm not too sure on that, so I would look it up just to be safe.
