Flaring

So, my betta Zeus never flares. He'll raise his fins... but he never has huge flaring gills or anything. Is that bad? Or is he just easy going?

Sounds fine to me. Some just don't flare very much. Try holding a mirror up. :) Or, if you ever get another betta, put him next to it. That ought to get him going.

Have you ever tried holding a mirror up?

And if not, what have you tried?

What would tick off a betta??
Perhaps insulting his parentage might do the trick!

my guy is really chill too, when I show him a mirror, he looks at it like he's thinking.. "so?..."
same with other fish
he just kind of looks at 'em

My fish is terrified of his own reflection.

Its funny,
Sometimes Pickle is really easy going, then he's all big and man-like.
Its so funny,
My dog puts his nose right up to his tank and he just swims around his rock,
My camera is pushed up to the glass and he starts posing for pictures.
THEN I feed him, he flares the the flakes..
He swims around his tank, he flares at the plant, the rock, my face, my turtle...
The list goes on and on..
Pickle is crazy, like me.
Lets leave it at that xD
