Water option questions

The town where I live has a water boil order for a few days due to bacteria in the city water system. They are recommending boiling drinking water for at least one minute. I don't want to put my fish in tap water right now, even if it has sat out overnight and been conditioned, not knowing what is in it.

Would you seasoned fish owners recommend boiling water for the fish tank to kill the bacteria or buying bottled water for this tank cleaning?

I would boil and condition it. It should be fine... If it is safe for you to drink after boiling it its safe for the fish.

Thanks, Matt! I feel a bit like I'm camping over here, having to boil my drinking water. One more big kettle on the stove won't be a problem.
