So I've been trying to figure out the cause of Aros' fin rot for MONTHS now.
I've made sure his water is ALWAYS super clean, treated him with salt baths, I've use Maracyn+Maracyn-two, tried Tetracyclin, tried Fungus eliminator but whatever is slowly deteriorating his beautiful fins away is still at it. I feel bad for putting him in all that medicine )':
Not long ago, I noticed a weird yellowish-white bump growing on his caudal fin. Today, I went to the pet store to look for some decorations for my new 10 gallon tank, and suddenly there were two! (Sorry for the bad photo... he wouldn't stop moving...)
I'm starting to wonder if it's Ich, but he's exhibiting no signs of it being Ich. He's completely fine swimming around, no darting, no clamped fins, he's eating and blowing bubble nests merrily. Besides those two dots, there's nothing else. He's also kept in a tank with 1 gallon of water with 1 teaspoon of salt with temperatures at 80 degrees, and I'm pretty sure from what I understand about Ich, it cannot survive in that kind of environment. I also don't think fin rot is a symptom of Ich... so I'm completely and utterly stumped as it what it might be.
I've also thought it to be velvet just because of it's kinda yellowish/goldish colour, but once again... he's living in a salt bath, and kept in very clean water and I don't think fin rot is a symptom of velvet...
The growth are about 1 millimeter in diameter.
Please, if anyone has any idea of what this might possibly be or what I can possibly do, I'd really appreciate the input!
Thank you again...
