Unhappy Lifeguard kill?

I noticed my betta was hanging around the bottom of the tank more than usual. He's really dark colored, but I think I could see white flecks on him. I ordered some AquariSol online, but all my local store had was Lifeguard.

I gave him Lifeguard since I didn't want to wait for the AquariSol to arrive. A few hours after the second treatment today, he died. It's so strange as he never stopped eating. He ate just this morning.

Anyone have experience with this med? Could it have killed him?

I'm so sorry about your fish! I've never used Lifeguard myself.
