Question male housing quarters....

i was talking to a friend lastnight who used to manage a LFS and i was telling her how i want to get a 10 gallon and have it divided into 3s so i can house more bettas and she said to be careful because they can stress real easy just at the sight of one another.....i dont want to stress anyone....is this ok or could i just get a bigger tank and house other compatible fish with the one male i have? or would this be just as stressful??

It depends on the bettas. Most are fine together as long as the divider is somewhat opaque and they aren't in sight of eachother all the time. That's why most people use plastic craft canvas. You can also put large plants near the divider to block view.

What I prefer to do, is put a female in the middle. That way, my tail biter doesn't get all freaked out.

The two I had together flared at each other quite a bit at first, but eventually got used to each other.
