whos your momma?

here is a really confusing story. i have been trying to spawn for the past few days with no luck... or so i thought. i have two breeding tanks set up side by side. i kept interchanging the males and females to see which ones would work.

after seeing this for a full day and no spawning, i removed him.


i brought in a new male and a new female. they went at the existing nest and started to destroy it. it wasnt for a few minutes before i noticed eggs starting falling down. now, scroll up and look at the picture again, there ARE eggs! i just introduced the male back so he could tend the remaining eggs. there arent many. =(

im now stuck with no cool images of the spawn and have no idea who the mom is. fml.

You don't really know who the father is either, do you? Or did you use the same male the whole time?

hes definitely the father, else he wouldnt be tending the nest.

im still sadden that i let the other fish snack on a bunch of eggs.
