What to do?

I bought this Crypt Spiralis today from my small LFS to add to my sorority tank. She called it a "show crypt" - not sure what that means, but it was totally worth the $14 I paid because it's HUGE and thick!! Anyway, as you can see, the roots are totally grown in, under, and through each part of the black plastic basket. Very thick! Should I leave it as is, or attempt to gently dissect the root ball to remove the basket? It's in the tank for now, as is. I'm concerned removing the basket will cause too much damage. Will it die eventually, or can it live as one with the basket? :/

That plant is cool. Do you have a decent size tank? I wanted it for my 2 gallon but was warned it was too much plant. I'm not sure about the basket but I don't see the harm leaving it in?

I would personally leave it in there, at least until the plant has a chance to adapt to the new tank ^^

Also, it's a big possibility the girls will be upgraded to a bow front 16g in the future. :D

Here's a trick for your pictures. On my apple I edit the picture, rotate it sideways than save it. Than I go back and do the whole thing over and make it straight. Than when I upload the picture its straight. Really like the plant

Thanks cowboy! I'll try that next time. I'm not sure why the iPhone does this. :)
