No behavioral symptoms, both Dragoon and Merlin are their usual selves, but both of them have these tendrils hanging off of them (maybe their slime coat shedding?). It's been going on a couple days now, the tendrils do fall off, but it seems like they just keep getting them and shedding them :/

i am pretty sure it a slime coat .But the coast of the slime coat can be injuries, extra stress coat, aquarium salt or parasites. So i think they shedding their slime coat with parasites, meaning that they still have them . Keep doing water changes with that temperature that you been maintaining.See how they doing. Because if they shedding slime coat , they shedding parasites. And with the temperature that you have they will not attached back to the fish. Well should not ....and some say that parasites even die with the temp over 86*. So keep the temperature up i would say keep it 88* , water changes and dark . They using photosynthesis to grow, so keep it dark.
See how they doing if there any changes will develop in their behavior then salt.
Can you remind how long you treating them ?

That's a reassuring.

It's Day 11 of treatment based on what day I have that I started the heat treatment, but you could say it's only Day 10 since it may have taken a day to raise the temperature at the beginning. Water changes have been consistent though.

Give us update to see how they doing, you can add salt later at any time to help prevent any bacteria infection from attaching to the open ich wounds.

They're still doing good today; just shedding some more, though Dragoon is shedding a bit less than Merlin today. Both are still good though-eating well, not lethargic, and their usual selves.

Oh good if it Slimy clear like a mucus then it was definitely slime coat not the fungus or anything like that.
I would just continue for about 7 days with temp and water changes, i would think that you got rid of the parasites. Then you can just go back to regular water changes and i would lower the temp eventually . But make sure you do it gradually though. I love 76* for bettas. So not sure which temperature you want for them . It pretty hot now where i live, so i took all heaters out for now.
If you going to do 50% and full water changes do not put the filter in the tank. If you not going to cycle it you do not need the fitler.

Just an update that includes a picture of how much better Merlin is looking from before. His tail hasn't completely unfurled yet, but I think you'll agree that he looks much better.

When I Posted:

Now:

(Sorry it's blurry, he's moving around a lot more now that he's feeling better!)

I had the light on briefly just to take the picture, it's back off now.
