Question ? about filter and loves new home

So i have upgraded my boy Love to his new 5 gallon home and he is loving it...although there seems to be a pretty strong current coming from the filter....is there anything i can do so slow it down??? here are some pics of his new home...also, what are some good tank mates for him? i know i need to be careful in my selection

That tank looks JUST like mine, here is what I did to slow the flow of the filter.
I made one of these: http://www.petfish.net/articles/Do-I...urrentkill.php

And I bought these and cut them to fit into the intake tube:

They are cheap, work great, and can be used for a long time. I hope that helps!

You could always use a plastic bottle to make a filter baffle. There's actually a thread around here with step by step instructions on how to do it.

I made one for my five gallon and it seemed to really help. :)

As for tank mates, in my five gallon, I have a ghost shrimp in with my male betta. They get along just fine since the shrimp is so tiny, and he sure is fun to watch.

you can definitely do that. Put as much of it in there as needed to slow the current. I usually only need about 2 pieces in mine. :D

For tankmates, you could do maybe a few shrimp or a pair of dwarf frogs? I'm getting a pair of ADFs for my 5 gal when i set it up. :)

or an oto or two, you could put in watersprite for another plant, they grow really well

the duckweed will take over, so just keep pruning it back so he can always get to the surface to breathe
