Out of about 20 bulbs i planted 3 are currently growing, and it was well over a month ago when i planted them! So hopefully for you some will grow! The 3 that did sprout grew into some pretty cool plants. this one lily plant is still growing and lookin like its gunna be very attractive :)

I love that coconut moss thing, i always see them at petco... and have though about them maybe i donno.... but you just convinced me! Very nice!

i have the bulbs too, i got mine at walmart......some take longer than 30 days to get a few inches big, but if you dont see ANY sprouting at all in 4 weeks, usually u can return them and get them replaced. all of mine sprouted, at different times, some a week some up to 6 weeks, but all are doing well

If that candle holder is soapstone (looks like it), I'd make very sure that you can use that in an aquarium. It's very, very soft and I'd worry that it might degrade or somethin'.

even though it has a 1 oh the mohs mineral hardness scale - that deals with the scratch resistance.

but regardless, talc (part of soapstone) is not water soluble.

Anyhoo, I do appreciate the concern though!! 8)
