Hello and welcome to the forum. Yes, females can be bred more than once. I'm not sure what you mean by "give up her eggs". If she's not bred, she will release them or reabsorb them. Releasing the eggs doesn't hurt the female. Yes, crowntails can breed with other tail types. There will be some aggression during spawning but if it gets too aggressive, where the female is getting pretty torn up then she should be removed. Putting a female who isn't ready to breed with a male may result in the male killing her. The fry are full grown at around 3 months. I can't think of any certain brands of food that are unhealthy for bettas. I would choose a god pellet food like Wardleys or Hikari betta bio gold. The female needs to be taken out of the breeding tank as soon as they are finished spawning. If the female is destroying the nest, I would take her out. I hope this answers your questions. It's good that you are asking a lot of questions because doing research is very important before deciding to breed. So many things can go wrong, even for an experienced breeder. Also, a person who decides to breed needs to have the proper food ready for the fry and they need to have homes for the fry once they are grown.
