Looking to start a 10 gallon tank, what would be best?
If I have good luck with my new betta I plan to get a 10 gallon tank for my home office or living room. I was thinking about a betta sorority but I would also like to have zebra and neon tetras, maybe a few sucker fish. I want lots of color!
You will be at pretty much full capacity with a sorority in a 10 gallon if you count on 6 females.
There are genuses and genuses of sucker fish out there. You could probably accomodate about 3 otocinclus (aka otto) catfish, provided the tank is mature (their skin is scaleless, making them really sensitive to water quality).
Could I do 3 girls, a small scool of neons, and a 2 albino sucker fish. I was hopping to add a few male guppies too. Maybe I should aim for a 15 gal tank.
You need at least 4 girls for a sorority. And by albino sucker fish, what type are you talking about? Things like plecos will become HUGE, CAE will become very aggressive, and so on. I think with all those fish, a bigger tank would be better.

Agreed. You really need to explain what you mean by 'sucker fish' before we can give you any advise on them. All the 'albino sucker fish' that come to mind will grow way too big for your tank, even if they seem small in the pet store. Plecos an chinese algae eaters are sold as babies. You need to consider the adult size before you wind up having to spend $700 on a 100g tank for a fish you bought by mistake.
Wow I never thought those white sucker fish would get so big! lol. They are so small at the store. I have been looking on CL, no luck yet. People on there are crazy sometimes, wanting more for a tank then they sell for new. I've been looking non stop for a week now. I did find a 15 gal at Walmart for $40 and it comes with a hood and filter. But I dont think I can get hubby to okay that! He's not to happy with the $50 I just spent for the one betta.
