So, Tango finally has his first tail problem

I'm reasonably sure it's not fin rot but since he's never had it I'm not really familiar with it. It's ONLY his tail that's affected and he's missing a big piece in one spot and smaller pieces just above it. The area is the top of his tail. There aren't any holes and his dorsal and lower fins are fine. So, since my water params are fine (0,0,10) should I just keep an eye on him and wait for it to heal? I'd posted that he was letting the filter suck him in and he's stopped that but I'm wondering if that's what was responsible.

It was probably the filter. I had one who would just sit right next to the intake tube!!! So, I moved him to a different section of the tank.

Oh, it should heal up soon! If not, give him a salt bath or two. Just don't add salt with your Cories in the tank.

oh i hope its just because of the filter, i definately would do a salt bath to help the healing along though, so it doesnt cause his fin to rot

Yeah I put pantyhose over my Intake and it helped, but now Friday sits RIGHT behind the filter, and It freaks me out because I can't see him! But still no fin problems! Good luck with fixing Tango!
