Ornaments smell

My ornaments smell... But so far my Betta seems to be doing fine. Will my ornaments kill my Betta fish?

I have a castle ornament and a rock/cave ornament.

They are eating fine, very happy, swimming around a lot and flaring. Ornaments have been in tank for almost 2 weeks.

What do they smell like and are you taking them out of your tank to smell them and also how long have the ornaments been in your tank with your Bettas?

Since your Bettas are doing fine I would say the ornaments are not going to kill them but answering the questions I asked might help to give the members something to go by when they comment on your post

I see you already answered one of the questions before I posted my questions, so they have been in for 2 weeks I would say if your Bettas are acting and eating fine the ornaments are fine as well. But we can wait for other members to answer before you completely decide if the ornaments are indeed safe.

They smell while they're in the tank and while they're out of the tank. I put them in hot water before putting the ornaments in my tank. Hopefully there is no chemicals in the ornaments that will hurt my Bettas.

If they smell like chemicals/paint get them out it could be emitting VOC'S which could kill your fish. There is a bad ornaments thread going in habitats that discusses this problem. I would mention your problem there. Lately, there seems to be a problem going on with bad batches. For the ornaments I purchased the smell is coming from the interior so I am filling all cavernous areas with sand and sealing the sand in with AQ silicone.
