fish bitting fin??

My CT looks like he had fin rot but there are no trces of it and i have heard CT's some times they bite there tails. i was wondering if this is true and what to do for my fish.

It is fin rot a good 90% of the time. I only ever suspect tail biting if the water was absolutely perfect and it couldn't possibly be fin rot.

I have also never heard of a crowntail biting their tail... bettas tend not to bite their actual rays, which is pretty much all a crowntail's tail is.

the rays arnt bitin its just the little spikey tips then it stops there.

Keeping the water clean will definitely help.

My crowntail liked to lay against the water intake tube...still trying to recover from that (that was in July). Clean water and some aquarium salt will definitely help.

Yeah rays are what I meant by tips... bettas don't usually bite that part. I would step up the cleaning and add some aquarium salt.

Try cleaning the tank twice a week.

ok good to know. i didnt really know what rays where untell now. i had heard it before and just sorta gussed. i add aquarm salt regularly and change his water onece a week ill start changing his watter a little more often.
