what other things can i put in my tank????

since im practically new to owning a betta fish, i was wondering what other animals can i put in my 2.5 gal tank besides fish. i dont know maybe snails....that type of thing. and how do bettas react to this?

in a 2.5 gallon- really just snails or shrimp- and different fish react differently- my female for example- tears shrimp to tiny pieces and eats them. other betta happily live with them long term with no interest in attacking them.
I have a 3 gallon and i had a black molly in there for a while because my friend moved and couldn't take him- but the molly was unhappy and Lulu picked on him a lot. he died of old age as my friend told me he would. Molly was an old fish.
but i actually like putting live shrimp in there for Lulu to hunt- its a very interesting natural behavior and an excellent food for them.
