new guy not eating

ok so my new male i got for my bday wont eat at all i tried pellets and he isnt eating it any help???

Sometimes it takes a little while for them to eat when you first get them as they adjust to their new surroundings. Give him time, it could take a couple of weeks.

It literally takes several months for a healthy fish to starve to death. I'm not restricted by feelings in my quest for knowledge....

Bettas can go for about a month without food... Your boy may not last that long 'cuz petstores don't feed that much.

What are you feeding him? How warm is his water?

Oh I'm quite certain they (an otherwise healthy betta) can go longer than a month. I SERIOUSLY doubt anyone here besides me would actually see how long their fish can last without food....
