Needing some info & advice

I'm thinking about upgrading my tank and getting two more bettas. I'd like to have a ten gallon tank, that I can split into three. But, I have no clue how to care for a ten gallon tank. I have a 4 gallon Bi-Orb that I do 100% water changes once a week. I empty the whole bowl out, and clean all the plants/stones/decor in hot water. The tank weighs like 40pounds with everything in it. I usually carry it from my livingroom to the kitchen. Its a lot of work
Anyway, how do you clean a ten gallon tank? Is it impossible to do 100% water changes. I imagine its extreamly heavy so, no one carries the tank around.. is there a special water transfer pump or something you have? Do you remove everything when cleaning a ten gal? I know theres a gravel vac.. is there anything else?

I think you will have to cycle a 10 gallon tank. It would be too difficult to empty a 10 gallon completely every time it needed cleaned.

You would want to use a filter and cycle the 10g and then just do partial water changes each week. Thats my suggestion.

Yeah definitely cycle it. You can get a gravel siphon (pretty cheap) which will allow you to 'vacuum' the substrate as it sucks water out. Very convenient.

If the water is cycled, 20-30% water changes once a week with gravel siphoning/plant and decor cleaning about twice a month is all that is necessary. But the number of fish, as well as the amount they are fed, are both factors as well. Remember the larger the tank, the easier it is to maintain.
