Last week I snagged an unbelievable deal at a yard sale on a 45g long tank. It came with a wooden stand, a huge Emperor filter, a light, a heater, several bottles of water conditioner, two large decorations, and a custom built lid for the top that hides the appearance of the filter and the light (and as a bonus, will prevent my cats from digging their paws into the water!) The best part? I got everything for $50.
Now, everything is set up and I have started to cycle the tank today, so it will be a good while before I add any fish, but I'm sort of undecided on what to do with it! I could
start a betta sorority, but I sort of already have that going on in my 30 gallon. I have six girls in there along with my other community fish and was thinking of trying something different.
My first idea was having an entire tank of mollies. They come in so many varieties, so it might be fun. My second idea (but the one I am more hesitant about) was to have cichlids. I have never kept cichlids before so I am looking for advice and opinions on either of my ideas, as I do not trust pet store employees enough to ask them...
