Problems with Hydor 25W heater

Does anyone here have a Hydor heater? I'm having problems with mine. No matter what temp i set my heater at, my tank is always 82 degrees... I thought it was my thermometer that wasn't working, so i did a little test to see if it was. I put a cup of water near the tank, waited a whole day for it to go to room temp, and the cup of water was at 76 degrees room temp. So the heater is definitely working because my tank is 82 degrees, and the orange light is also turning on sometimes. It's at 82 degrees all the time no matter what temp i set my heater at.

Has anyone had any problems like this in the past? How can i fix it?

I have a similar problem - but mine won't heat anything past 78 degrees...

There's no way for you to fix a faulty thermostat. Hydor could do it. You'll have to replace it. Test the new heater carefully.

Probably a problem with the heater. I have one and it works great. I keep it set at the 79 degree mark, but it does sometimes go a degree or two above or below, but never more than that.
