1.5g tank?

Past couple of days I have been hunting around at some tanks to start housing a male betta in. My friend swears with this 1.5g tank that he picked up from Big W (Wal Mart of Australia)

PPretty much it contains a 3 Stage filter and a LED. They are pretty cheap and he has had his tank for about 2 years with the same betta in it.

I am thinking about get a few of these tanks for my males. In the tank I am planing on putting a light grave base and a live plant. Also to just help with the cleaning of the tank just a couple of shrimps. I live in the Tropics, so the water temp isn't a problem, and the room that they are going in keeps a good temp.

Any thoughts?

I think it would be too crowded if you added shrimp too. 2.5Gs are the ideal size for a betta alone. After 3 or 5Gs you can start adding shrimp. I don't know anything about live plants. Good luck!

Yeah I would avoid if at all posible. You are gonna have to clena that thing 3 times a week, which is a weighty commitment for any busy, on-the-go young adult.

Yea, I wouldn't be adding any shrimp at this point. Give it some time and see how things go with this tank and eventually work your way up to a bigger tank, then you can add other fish.

Also some bettas will eat the shrimp- mine gobbles them up at the rate of 3 or 4 a week if i put them in there- which she really seems to enjoy
