cloudy water?

hi all

i bought my fish the other day and put him in his tank on tuesday night with fresh water and conditioner. today i did an approx 40% water change because his water seemed a little cloudy (not VERY cloudy, but not crystal clear like it was when we first put him in). why would the water be a little cloudy? is this normal or should i do a 100% change? he is in a 2 gal, by himself, with a filter and heater. i fed him some blood worms, which he ate right away, and tried to get him to eat a pellet, but scooped it out after he didn't eat it for a few hours.

is the slight cloudiness normal?

Sometimes cloudy water is due to too much water conditioner. What type of water conditioner do you use? Also, blood worms shouldn't be given as a regular meal, it should be given as a treat. I fast my bettas for one day a week because it's good for their digestive systems. Merry christmas to you too! :)

i used NutraFin BettaPlus which called for 1 capful per .5 gallons (so i used 4 capfuls for the 2 gal tank). I didn't run the tank before I put him in.... I know now that I should have. Could it be "good" bacteria setting itself up??

It could be. I don't have any filters in my tanks, so I don't know how it works.

That's normal. My tank was cloudy for the first couple days after I set it up and then sometimes after big water changes.
