ok thanks for the info guys and girls.

Like I said in my first post - green killing machine. They make a mini one. It's a UV with an integrated pump.

I've got the big one on my 125 (gonna get another for the new 125) and the medium on my 90. I don't have a problem with green water or anything - just like having them in the tank.

Thumbs up

so the other day i did a 90% water change as usual with my syphon and put the syphon on the base of the tank and so much algae at the bottom so sucked up as much as I could- and today done another water change about 15-20%( bucket full)
water is slowly improving.

@Jaysee
Well got my mini green killing machine it came from hong kong and I had to pay import duty.

What I wanted to know was- how long did you have to leave your filter running before you saw a change in the water and how long do you have it running now?

I didn't get them because I had green water - I got them just to have UV filters in my tanks. I run them 24/7. Based on reviews I've read it shouldn't take long at all - a few days to clear green water.
