Red face Flareon Is Maaad.

I just did my first tank cleaning and he is not taking it well.
I set out a gallon of water yesterday so all the chemicals would settle from our tap water. Today, the poor fellow was put into a Mason jar so I could clean his tank because I had nothing better.
I felt so bad!

He was so angry with me! He just stared at my from the jar, Not moving around but to flare his fins!

Poor Boy.
But, I cleaned the sides of the tank as quick as i could and popped the new water in there ran my filter for about ten minutes before I put him back in there. He immediately hid behide my filter again so I had to turn it back off.

Once again the guy won't stop flaring at me. I think he is just an angry fish.

But anyways, at least he has survived his firse cleaning so far.

I can't wait for him to start making his bubble nest back. :D

Did you use water conditioner or did you use plain tap water?

I used a mixture of tap water and spring water because I want to switch him over to spring.

Bottled spring water? I did that for awhile - it got expensive. He's so pretty...I love the color of red he has.

Yes, bottled spring water. Mom said the same thing, that it is going to bee too expensive. Would It be safe to keep him at a mixture of tap and spring?

My Lunch didn't like his first cleaning either.. but he's an old pro now, he doesn't fight as much when I scoop him out, and he's really calm in his cup til everything is done. I'm sure Flareon will get use to it after a few changes.

I did it for about 2 months I think, and it really did add up. Honestly, tap water and water conditioner are just fine. I saved a lot when I quit doing bottled spring water. Why do you think your tap water is so dangerous? Is it well water, hard water, or what?

It has a heck of a lot of chlorine in it.
A lot more than most cities. I tested it out last year.

Ha ha ha! My fish did that, too! I felt sooo guilty for putting him into such a small container while I cleaned! He was trying to break out of it while I let the container with him in it sit in the water. I was afraid that he was going to tip it over!
