Question HELP!!!! to filter or not to filter???

the question says it all... i have a 3.5 gallon tank with 1 male betta... buying a heater for it tomorrow and possibly a light, but does it have to have a filter?

No, a filter is not necessary unless you plan on cycling the tank.

I agree with DQ unless you want to go through the cycling process its probably best just to stick with no filter. A tank that size would still need about 2 50% water changes a week any way IMO so really all cycling does is keep you from having to do 100% water changes.

After cycling my 3 gall I realized (at least for me) cycling a tank that size really isn't worth it.
