Expired Trisulfa and Fin Rot

I recently purchased a new betta, Bubbles the Destroyer™, and upon looking at him in a well-lit tank it became obvious that he has a case of fin rot.

I went out and picked up a box of Mardel's Trisulfa, and have been plopping a chopped in his tank for two days. Today I noticed that hidden inside the box's internal folding there is an expiration stamp for 2006!! I went back to the store and received a full refund, but I'm more concerned about poor Bubbles the Destroyer™.

Anyone know if I have doomed this poor guy? He seems as sassy as ever, but I am concerned.

Just to be on the safe side, you might want to change his water and get a new box of the medication. Some chemicals can go bad, and while I'm not sure if the ones in the medications could have, it's better to be safe then sorry.
