Cool Fin rot maybe?

Im a veteran betta fish owner. Ive had three healthy happy male bettas. But Ghost, my newest betta is having issues. All the sudden he haas kinks in his fins, like 90 degree kinks, and the tips of his tails look all red, which is not his normal color.

He is not in a filtered tank, but I change 75% of his water regularly, which he likes to throw a fit about. Once Ghost is done with his diva fit he makes me elaborate bubblenests and says goodmorning to me. Basically he is a very curious and active fish.

Could the stuff going on with his fins be fin rot or something related to the very hard water?

Can't tell from the picture, but I could it possibly be fin biting? I know I thought my betta had fin rot, but it turned out that he was biting is own tail! I found out by watching him one time and saw him going for his own tail, like a dog chasing its own tail. What size tank is he in? because I read that fin biting is usually due to stress, perhaps his tank is too small? because it looks like from the pic that he is in a cup.

Cool

maybe it is fin biting.... I took this picture while he was in his smaller tank, he is normally in a much larger tank. Could it be from using a net? I never have used a net when cleaning tank water.

Heres is a better picture.

That is fin biting.

Fin rot is black stuff on the fins, that grows more each day.
