My first Betta!

I've kept plenty of fish before, but this is my first Betta. I'm enjoying him and his territorial antics thoroughly. He patrols the entire tank...back and forth, back and forth.

He's in a 10 gallon planted aquarium (low light plants).

Your fish is very pretty.

Nice tank and fish! I bet he's loving having a ten-gallon all to himself.

Its actually a layer of gravel over a layer of potting soil. After a few months of (hopefully) steady plant growth, I plan on over hauling it and aquascaping it all pretty. Right now its kind of a jungle, but I've kind of gotten used to it that way and he seems to enjoy it as well. :D

So far in there I have java moss, crypts, an Amazon sword, hornwort and some plant I'm not quite sure about. Its the plant in the background of the first picture if anyone can help ID it. Its grown right out of the water and up out of the back of the tank!

Oh.. thats what I plan on doing with my next tank, potting soil covered with sand then partially covered with river rocks or gravel around the plants.
