Thank you so much for the info! I will keep you posted. How often should I test? Daily or every-other day?

Don't vacuum until your cycle is over. Test every single day and any day you get ANY reading of ammonia or nitrite do a small water change. You won't see any nitrites or nitrates for a while (I'd say at least a week to a week and a half for nitrite and over 3 weeks for nitrate)

What kind of conditioner are you using? If you have one that combats ammonia that could be the reason your readings are so low. Just keep testing and they will start to rise. Patience is key.

You are doing an excellent job. You did you're research and learned about cycling an aquarium. You even went out and bought a test kit (an they ain't cheap!) which is faaar more then a lot of fish keepers ever do.

Its very frustrating cycling you're first aquarium. But be patient and stick with it, and you will be rewarded with much happier and healthier fish.

And keep us posted!
