Re-did Alejandro's Tank

Yeah I really want to get some but I just don't want to go through cycling my tank again (even though I would seed it with a LOT of the old gravel).. so I'm just sticking with regular gravel in my 10 gal and hopefully one day I'll have the time and the money to completely overhaul it with the eco- complete.

As long as you seed the gravel it should be pretty easy to cycle the tank pretty quickly.

It would be.. the only problem is finding the eco-complete.. and being able to afford it. I can get all the plants I want for about $20-40 which is about my limit on fish stuff right now LOL

Well I found the eco complete at petco, and it was like $20 for 20lbs which isn't too bad.

Yeah I started looking at it online and that seems to be the low price.. I wish there was a petco near me... Theres one just across the SC boarder so it may be worth the trip to get some. Plus I won't need 20 lbs in my 10 so I could use it in my other tanks and still have leftovers that I could sell or keep for later.

Well the general rule is 2lbs per gallon to get a really good layer going. So I would say that you would probably use the whole 20lbs for your 10. I have 10lbs in this tank which is a 5 gal.

Ok.. thanks. I found the eco-complete at my LFS for $25.. I'm trying to decide if I want to get it or use the money to buy more plants :-/. I would get the 20lb bag and if I needed more substrate I'd just mix my current gravel with it.
