Constantly on its side after water change ):!

Hi guys,

During a water change, my betta fell to the bottom of the bowl and laid on the bottom for a while. He then floated to the top after a bit and flipped to his side and didn't move. Then he turned, belly upwards. I thought he was dead until I moved the bowl and he came back to life!

Ever since that time he's been flipping to his side everytime I leave him alone. He's been eating minimally (I was told to feed him 3-4 pellets every other day). His shine seems to have gone a bit too. His stomach seems to be a bit bloated. Whenever I appraoch he either just lays there until I move the bowl, and he gets very aggressive and attacks at the bottom of the bowl.

I use a bowl with no temp regulation, and only gravel at the bottom. I've had him for about a year, and am not sure of his age. I'm not sure if I should change his water for fear of him dying!! - its been about 5 days since it happened.

Thanks for the help guys!!!
