New Betta

I recently purchased a DTEE betta from PetCo. He's housed in a ten gallon tank with hooded light, filter, heater and air stone. The filter is mild and the air is turned way down but there's enough current where he can't build a bubble nest. Should I make something that floats so he can build one or he be perfectly happy without one?

Some floating plants (real or silk) will provide shade, hides, a place to rest and a place to anchor bubblenests.
