First tank set up? :)

Recently got two tanks one of which i am thinking of doing a crab set up :) and the other tankis going to be a female beta set up. I measured the tank and it comes in at 36inches length ways, 12 inches depth, 12inches in height so is that about 20ish gallons?

The set up ive been thinking about is:
7 Betta females,
2x Apple snail (sooo cool)
10x Ghost shrimp
5x Cories

That is based off information from this site: AqAdvisor - Intelligent Freshwater Tropical Fish Aquarium Stocking Calculator and Aquarium Tank/Filter Advisor
And with this ammount of life the stocking ratio is at 72% susposedly
Does this sound about the right ammount of life for this size of tank and what other species could i add in to the mix?

That should be fine. You could probably get an ADF or two as well.

aww i shoulda done that with my 20 gal but on the bottom it says critter cage do not fill with water lol so what do i go and do put about 4 inches of water in it and my lil baby turtles love it lol,,,once my rooms dun i'll have a 40 gal to play with anyways =}

Hold off on the shrimp and the snails until the tank is totally cycled. They're sensitive to changes in water quality. I wish I had a big tank like that. :D I'm jealous.
