I don't think I'd try a giant for some time if at all. As for the 55 it's a temp home for my pleco and permanent home for a soon-to-be Madagascar rainbow fish. Once the pleco moves out ill be replanting the tank and putting some angelfish in, I don't suspect they'd get along with a betta.
