Gorgeous Silver Crown Tail

You guys were right, Bettas ARE addictive.
I stopped by my local pet store on the way home from work today and I saw a Betta I instantly fell in love with, he was a crowntail Betta who was a lovely metallic silver colour and was very active and seems like a very happy fish... I really really had to pressure mysef to stop myself from buying him... I did however tell the petstore people to set him aside for me and took my details.
I might be going back to get him tomorow but I can't afford another tank at the moment, and they said they can't keep him more than a few days set aside because crownies are popular.

1. Do you guys think I should get the fish?
2. If so what sort of things make for good temporary tanks?

Yes, get him. You can get a critter keeper for him.

Critter Keeper's, plastic storage containers (you can get massive ones), a fairly large vase (or even a small one if it's only for a little while). Do you have any friends or family that may have an old tank hanging around?

I hope you do get him, and show us pictures. I'm very curious to his colour :)

Get him! 2.5 kritter keepers are the perfect size and they're less than ten dollars. You can also get a plastic bin, like DefyingGravity said, and it would work just as well and probably be cheaper than a kritter keeper. Good luck! And post pics!

I bought the fish!! He needs a name now too... lol.

I got a large storage container and some marbles and fake plants from a discount store today also. The whole lot (including the fish) cost me $18, I am indeed happy with that.

Wow! That's great, normally a set up like that would be at least $30, if you got a regular tank or whatever. Can't wait to see pics!

Hopefully 'll get a regular tank soon! But he seems happy enough in Tupperware for now. lol.

Seeing your in Aus, check out the trading post online for cheap tanks, or cheap/discount stores when it comes time to buy a tank. Cheap as Chips here in Adelaide has Critter Keeper style tanks for only 10 bucks :) Fantastic!

Man, I'd be happy to pay $30 for the tank alone :P Tanks (and just about everything else) are so expensive!

At the discount store I was shopping at they had critter keeper things for $5 except they were waaaay too small, they were hardly bigger than what they were being kept in at the pet store.
But I shall check the trading post online. THANKS :D
