Safe Betta Decor?

It's really difficult to find plants and decor that doesn't have rough edges. I found him a pretty good castle, but I had to sand a few of the edges down a good bit. Even some of the silk plants I've found have too-rough edges. Is there someplace I can get specifically Betta-safe decor?

Honestly, your best bet would be to find the stuff you can get up to betta standards with a bit of sandpaper, and use live plants.

Companies must not think bettas are popular to bring out more 'betta friendly' items.

I know it can be hard to find things.(in a way it is a good thing for me because I change my mind too much lol) In the past I've used mugs in my tank, smooth and can be a cute hidey hole.

Have you tried Petco?

Petco is the only real pet store where I live. They have a few decent things, but most requires at least a bit of sanding to become truly betta-safe. And companies think bettas are plenty popular, they just don't understand how fragile they are, and they bank on their customers not knowing either; unfortunately, they're usually right :-/

I'd like to do live plants eventually, so maybe I'll plant my tank in a few months. I have gotten a few silk plants at Petco and at an aquarium store with mixed results from both. But using a mug is great idea! We have so many that using one couldn't possibly hurt

And yeah, it is frustrating that stores don't realize how fragile their fins are.
