Velvet outbreak in my fish room

I have about 50 fish left, most of them about 3 months old from my last breeding attempt. I bought a fish a while ago that died of what I now believe was velvet and now it seems like I notice a new fish clamped or showing patches of gold dust every day. Any suggestions on how to deal with this problem would be great. I'm sure they are all carriers now at the moment but some just aren't infected yet.

Malachite green and formaldehyde is available as "Quick Cure". Quick cure is plant safe. Coppersafe generally isn't good for plants.

I heard malachite green causes infertility issues and since I plan to breed some of these guys that isn't an option for me. They are all being quarantined in 1/2 gal containers with Seachem version of coppersafe. They aren't getting any light and I'm hoping for the best!

Thanks for the advice everybody

I heard that too, but I don't think it does as I treated with medications containing malachite green and my pair of two year old fish that received the treatment went on to spawn and they were not the only ones to spawn successfully after being exposed to malachite green for velvet treatment.

All I can say is good luck. I had velvet go through my entire fish room and a year on I still have it crop up again.
