I bred a pair of marbles last summer and know I got marbles out of that spawn. I also bred a pair 6 weeks ago. Exactly ONE egg out of well over 200(I stopped counting at 200) hatched. The rest went bad. It was a result of a smallish male trying to wrap a half giant female.
Anyway, the parents are unrelated. The male is a red/white/blue full dragonscale HMPK. His color and pattern was perfect to me and his fins are a train wreck but I was breeding for color only so that's why I bred. The female was much a nicer blue/green opaque marble-slight spoon head and caudal rounding but again I was shooting for size and color.
Anyways, Speck(I'll call him speck) is coming 6 weeks old and has started to marble. His red fins are turning blue and his baby stripes are disappearing. I will add to this post as he grows and colors up more. Sorry for the crappy photo quality. I only get good pics with lots of light which I just don't have on this tank even with an extra utility light.
Speck is the teeny speck in the bottom of the cup near the IAL...
