WOW I have yet to see a huger fail.
There exist only three cichlid species from the entire continent of asia period: the Orange Chromide, the Green Chromide and the Banded Chromide, all from the genus etroplus which is also indigenous to Madagascar.
If you subscribe to the theory of continental drift, however, you would find it interesting to know that like mineral deposits, the distribution of cichlids in africa and south america suggest that once upon a time the two continents cichlids originate from may have been connected.
